At my heaviest I was 160 pounds. I stopped taking pictures because I didn't like what I saw. I stopped speaking up at work. I had bad headaches for years, so bad I was scared they would turn into dizzy spells.
I carried pain pills everywhere just in case. By the end of most days I was too tired to really be there for my husband or my kids.
I went to the doctor so many times. Nobody ever asked what I was eating.
One doctor gave me medicine for feeling down, I never took it, I didn't want that label. Mostly I was just told I was getting older.
So I tried to fix it myself. Eating less. A personal trainer. P90X, I quit after three days. Two weeks of vegan, I lost weight then gained it all back. Nothing worked, until keto.
In just 5 days I felt different, calmer, more energy, easier with the people I love, before the scale even moved. And I lost 30 pounds in 4 months.
But keto alone was hard to keep up. So I kept what worked, steady blood sugar and steady energy, and built something simpler around it:
- 01Closing the kitchen between meals
- 02Eating my food in the right order
- 03A short walk after dinner.
That became the 3E Method, Empty, Eat, Engage. It's also part of why my mother's eight year fight after her cancer diagnosis, and how much her diet shaped those years, changed the way I think about food for good.
I'm not a doctor. I'm a woman who got this wrong for years before I got it right, and I built the system I wish someone had handed me. Now I help other women get their life back with the same 3E Method that worked for me.
